When temperatures drop, skin loses moisture faster and its protective barrier weakens. The result is tightness, flaking and redness, even if your skin is usually oily. The good news is that the fix is simpler than most ten-step routines suggest.
Cleanse gently
Swap foaming cleansers for a cream or balm that won't strip natural oils. Cleanse properly once in the evening; in the morning, a splash of lukewarm water is often enough.
Layer hydration
Apply a hyaluronic serum to damp skin, then seal it in with a richer moisturiser containing ceramides. That combination draws water in and stops it escaping.
Don't skip SPF
UV levels are lower in winter but still age the skin. A lightweight SPF 30 every morning remains the single best anti-ageing step.
Book a reset
A signature glow facial at Maison Initiale gives dull winter skin a reset, and your therapist will build a routine around the products you already own.
