Dental anxiety is one of the most common reasons people put off care, and the longer you leave it, the bigger the worry gets. At Bluebonnet Smile Studio, around a third of our patients tell us they're nervous. Here's how we help.
Tell us, and we'll plan around it
When you book, let reception know you're anxious. We'll add a note to your record, give you a longer first appointment and, if you like, a chat with the dentist before you even sit in the chair.
“For longer or more complex procedures, IV sedation can help you feel relaxed and drowsy while staying conscious.”
You're in control
We agree a stop signal before we start, usually a raised hand, and we stop the moment you use it. We explain each step before we do it and you can take a break whenever you need one.
Comfort extras
Numbing gel before injections, headphones with your own music, a blanket and a stress ball are all available. Many patients find it helps to bring someone with them; they're welcome in the surgery.
Sedation for longer treatment
For longer or more complex procedures, IV sedation can help you feel relaxed and drowsy while staying conscious. You'll need someone to take you home and stay with you afterwards. Ask us whether it's right for you.
