Our supporters trust us with their money, so we think they deserve a straight answer about how it's used. Last year we raised just over £1.1 million.
Where it came from
About 42% came from individual donations and regular giving, 21% from trusts and foundations, 14% from our charity shop, 12% from local businesses and the rest from events, gifts in wills and contracts with the council.
How we spent it
89p in every £1 went directly on our programmes: food, advice, older people, young people and the community garden. 8p went on fundraising, which raises around £5 for every £1 invested, and 3p on governance, audits and keeping the lights on.
Why core costs matter
It's tempting to judge charities on how little they spend on overheads. But safeguarding training, a good database and a warm building are what make our work safe and effective. Unrestricted gifts are what pay for them.
