1.Summary
Loneliness can be as harmful to health as smoking. Our befrienders visit or phone older people across Bristol every week for a cuppa and a chat, a walk to the shops or help with something fiddly like a video call to the grandchildren. Many of these friendships last for years.
2.Procedure
- 2.1Get in touch yourself, or ask a GP, school, social worker or advice service to refer you
- 2.2A friendly member of the team calls back within two working days
- 2.3We talk through what would help most, in confidence and without judgement
- 2.4You're welcomed at your first session, with a volunteer to show you around
