The idea
The Rainhouse is an independent boutique hotel of 28 rooms and suites in the old quarter of Galway. Thoughtful design, slow breakfasts, a calm courtyard garden and hosts who know the city by heart — everything you need for a stay that feels personal from the moment you arrive.

Finding the house. We bought an abandoned 1760s townhouse that had stood empty for twenty years.
