We collect as little as we can: what you type into our forms, and anonymous visit counts. Here is exactly what, why, who handles it and how to have it removed.
Who we are
Motion Blocks (motionblocks.dev) is run by Hardik Desai, Ahmedabad, India. We decide how your data is used, which makes us the “controller” under data protection law. Any question about your data goes to hello@motionblocks.dev.
What we collect
When you send the contact form
- Your name, email address and message.
- The details you choose to add: business, trade, budget, timeline, website, the template you picked and, if you used the editor, a link to your customised version.
- The page you sent it from, your browser’s user agent and a one-way hash of your IP address. The hash lets us stop spam floods; it cannot be turned back into your IP.
We use this to reply to you and, if you go ahead, to do the work. Legal basis: steps you asked us to take before a possible contract, and our legitimate interest in keeping the form free of spam.
When you join early access
- Your email address, the plan you are interested in, the page you joined from and a hash of your IP address.
We use it to tell you when checkout opens and to honour the launch price for the first 100 people. Legal basis: your consent. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing us, and we will delete your entry.
When you create an account or sign in
- Your email address, the date you joined, when you last signed in and your plan.
- For each sign-in link: a one-way hash of the link (never the link itself), when it was asked for, and a hash of your IP address to stop floods of requests.
- For each signed-in device: a one-way hash of the session cookie, its expiry and the browser’s user agent, so you stay signed in.
- Designs you change in the editor while signed in, so you can open them on any device.
- A short activity log: when you asked for a sign-in link, signed in or out, opened a section’s code or downloaded the core, with a hash of your IP address and your browser’s user agent. We use it to support you, spot misuse of paid code and see which sections people use.
We use this to sign you in and to give you what your plan includes. Legal basis: providing the service you asked for (contract), and our legitimate interest in protecting paid code. There are no passwords.
Emails and alerts we send
Every confirmation email we send is logged (recipient, subject, body and whether it was delivered) so we can tell when a message went missing. When a form comes in, we get a short alert on Telegram with the details above.
While you browse
- Visit counts: anonymous page views from our host’s analytics. No cookies, nothing that identifies you.
- Google Analytics: only if you click Accept on the cookie banner. It uses cookies to show us which pages and templates people use. IP anonymisation is on, and we have no advertising features switched on.
- Template drafts: edits you make in the editor are saved in your own browser, not on our servers, unless you send them to us.
The full list of cookies and browser storage is in the cookie policy.
Who handles it for us
| Service | What for | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Vercel | Hosting the site and anonymous visit counts | Global edge, USA |
| Neon | The database that stores form entries | London, UK |
| GoDaddy | Our email (hello@motionblocks.dev) | USA / EU |
| Telegram | Alerts to us when a form comes in | Various |
| Google Analytics, only after you accept | USA |
Some of these are outside the UK and EU. Where that happens the provider relies on the safeguards the law allows, such as standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision. We do not sell your data, rent it out or use it for advertising.
How long we keep it
- Contact form enquiries: up to 24 months after our last conversation, then deleted.
- Early access list: until checkout opens and the launch offer ends, and no longer than 24 months. Sooner if you ask.
- Email and alert delivery logs: 12 months. Sign-in emails are logged without the link.
- Your account: until you ask us to delete it. Sign-in links are deleted a day after they were sent; signed-in devices after 30 days; the activity log after 12 months. Saved designs stay until you delete them from your account page.
- Google Analytics data: no more than 14 months, the longest Google allows on a standard account.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected or deleted, object to how we use it, restrict it, or take it elsewhere. Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time. Email hello@motionblocks.dev and we will answer within 30 days.
If you are in the UK you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk); in the EU, to your local data protection authority. In India, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act gives you similar rights. We would rather you tell us first so we can put it right.
Children
The site is for businesses and developers. It is not aimed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the date at the top. Anything significant, such as a new kind of data or a new processor, will also be emailed to the early access list.
